Speaking at Refresh this Thursday
Posted 21 February 2009 under refreshthetriangle, speaking, vigetFellow Vigeteer Mindy and I will be presenting a talk called “Ten Things Designers Do That Piss Developers Off (and Vice Versa)” at this month’s Refresh the Triangle this coming Thursday, February 26th. From the website:
This talk was originally going to be called “Effective Collaboration Between Designers & Developers,” but when they sat down to create their slides, David and Mindy realized they had deeper issues to resolve: he wanted to generate them with a custom templating engine; she wanted drop shadows and vector images of Che Guevara. Instead, they’ll battle it out at this month’s Refresh meeting and rant about all the things they just can’t stand about their web counterparts. You’ll be enlightened as to why your co-worker glares at you when you walk in the door and leave with a few good ideas on how to communicate, empathize and avoid bloodshed.
If you’re in the area, come by and check it out. Otherwise, I’ll post slides and a video sometime next week.
Update 4/1: We’ve posted a couple of articles about the talk on the Viget blogs. Read Mindy’s thoughts, and mine.
